Have you ever heard of the story of Little Red Riding Hood? I'm sure you have heard the classic story, but have you heard the REAL story?
Red's granny is a witch, the witch of the woods in fact. She has never been sick, never had a runny nose or even a cough! But when Red's parents go away and Red is left with her grandmother to take care of her, she discovers that her granny might be sick and dying. Red is forced to gather ingredients to make a cure for her granny's sickness. Red is forced to use magic—something she has feared since age 7—to save her granny.
Join Red as she fights against time to save the person she is not ready to let go of, her granny. Red: The True Story of Red Riding Hood, written by Liesl Shurtliff, is a really good book. It's an adventure and a little sad. I won't tell you if Red's granny does die or not because that would ruin the book. No spoilers! :)
