Everyone has made a wish before. In the book The Wish Stealers, written by Tracy Trivas, Griffin Penshine makes tons of wishes. She makes wishes about vegetables having really cool names or even makes wishes about her mom's baby being a girl.
That means Griffin is in trouble when an old woman named Mariah gives her a box of Indian Head pennies that are really wishes! Whoever has the box of pennies becomes a wish stealer. None of their good wishes come true, while their bad wishes do.
In The Wish Stealers, Griffin has to find a way to break the spell, fast! If she doesn't she will be turned into a genuine wish stealer: someone who makes people afraid to try. Follow Griffin through The Wish Stealers as she battles against the fate Mariah tries to give her as a wish stealer. This book is good for kids who like to read about kids who are pretty typical, but find magic in their life that changes them.
